Following a presentation from Rhonda Douglas, a volunteer with Share the Dignity, Erina Rotarians will be supporting the initiative It’s In the Bag, a program that runs from 19-28 November.

So just what is It’s in the Bag? As the name suggests, it’s about providing good quality handbags, and filling them with personal items for women, teens, and mothers with babies. Personal items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, sanitary products, roll-on deodorants, and other special items such as a water bottle or moisturiser.

Share the Dignity is a women’s charity in Australia, that works to make a real difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. They distribute period products to women, girls, and anyone who menstruates who needs support. When someone is doing it tough, the last thing on their mind should be dealing with their period.

Pictured below are bags and contents collected by the Rotary Club of Erina, ready to packed and distributed.
