Springfield Bushlands Project

Erina Rotary Club is working with the Bushlands Reserve Community Group to upgrade the existing park in the area of Springfield, on the Central Coast. The group is dedicating volunteer time and effort to build a place of togetherness, and nurturing the local environment and community as a result.

Stage one of this project involved re-painting and upgrading the existing bike track, incorporating plants for nature play and sensory play, and providing shade and seating.

In the long term the idea is to establish a Landcare group to regenerate surrounding bush and remove noxious weeds, develop a community garden, upgrade the play equipment, further develop areas of nature play and sensory play and fence the park for safety from the road.

Erina Rotary Club is pleased to be a part of this community project.

Bushlands Reserve Playground, Springfield before the upgrades began, and the photos below show the work that has been done to the bike track, thanks to the Central Coast Council, and the Rotary Club of Erina funding with a Rotary District grant. More recently an Easter Egg hunt was held, much to the delight of locals and participating Rotarians.
