New Rotarians
The Rotary Club of Erina welcomes Bruce Carpenter as our fifth new member for the current Rotary year. Bruce knows well the Rotary ways, as he is a former member of Port Macquarie Sunrise. Bruce is a Salvation Army officer now working from Woodport at Erina.
Erina Rotary Centurions
Erina Rotarians have been very generous over the past twelve months with their donations and we look forward to retaining our current Centurions and encouraging more members to join this year.
TEK Debate 1
Sadly we did not come away as winners in the first TEK (Terrigal Erina Kincumber) debate. Our topic? That Shakespeare is more relevant than Schwazenegger. Try as we might to convince the crowd that indeed Shakespeare is more relevant, we were beaten on the night. However, we certainly feel our team of Adrian Gale, Colin Pratt and Garth Morgan did us proud, particularly in the costume department. We look forward to adjudicating the next debate, between Terrigal and Kincumber on 5th February.
TEK Debate 2
Is there no stopping Kincumber Rotary? In yet another show of debating supremacy they toppled Terrigal Rotary in the second round of the TEK debate. This time the question centered on sport - That AFL is a better game than Rugby League. Win, lose or draw a good time was had by all who attended. Round Three is hosted by Kincumber Rotary on the 31st March.
TEK Debate 3
The final TEK debate has been run and won. Terrigal Rotary Club came out winners after debating Erina on the topic that Technology is Making us Dumber. It was a close contest, and once again those who attended enjoyed a night of good fun and friendly competition. The debate series continues in the new Rotary year.
