Our Club

Erina Rotary Club continues to support local and international projects.

In the 2009-2010 Rotary year, under President Bryan O'Shannassy, the club supported Coast Shelter, an organisation that provides emergency accommodation and other services to homeless people on the Central Coast. We also continued our support of the Gosford Guides and Terrigal Sea Rescue who provide us with support for the Century Challenge.

An exciting new community project is underway, stay tuned for more details. With this project we aim to remedy a problem for the local Councils in our area and increase our ability to distribute more funds to the community.

Internationally we will continue our support of Midwives East Timor Inc and the School of St Jude's in Tanzania, and the Central Coast zone is discussing plans to help with the Polio Plus program in India.

Vocationally we look forward to continuing our Community Service Award and Pride of Workmanship in a combined evening, and the club also looks forward to interesting vocational visits in the year ahead.

Our Youth Director has already been scanning the diverse programs that Rotary has to offer, especially the Rotary Youth Leadership awards and the Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment.

At the recent Changeover Dinner on July 6th 2010, held at the Villa Sorgenti Restaurant in Somersby (who assisted the club at short notice with a venue and a wonderful evening meal), Bryan O'Shannassy handed over the office of President to Monika Hansen for the coming year 2010 - 2011. Monika's leadership team of dedicated Rotarians for the coming year is named in full on the 'Our Members' page. In a great show of continuity within the Erina Club the President-Elect for the year 2011-2012 was named as Caroline O'Shannassy, Bryan's wife. Photos of the occasion can be found on the 'Our News' page of this site.

It's definitely shaping up to be another great year for the Rotary Club of Erina.
