Trivia Night - a $uccess $tory

On March 5th this year our Rotary  Club in conjunction with Erina High School held a TRIVIA NIGHT FUNDRAISER for Rotary Youth projects for students and a donation to the school.  Rotary also suuports and provides funds for many youth projects such as the year 11 Driver Awareness program, MUNA - the Mock United Nations Assembly program, the NYSF, National Youth Science Forum and RYPEN, the Rotary Youth Enrichment Program.

The Trivia Night was held on Saturday 5th March in the Erina High School hall.  Lucky door prizes, raffle, quiz prizes, and auctions were the order of the night and a great deal of fun was had and duly reported in the Central Coast Advocate as one of Erina Rotary's glittering success stories of 2011 raising some $4,000 toward Rotary projects.

Century Challenge

There is now a new website dedicated to the ride - www.centurychallenge.com.au

We would like to give thanks to all of those who volunteered during the 2010 and 2011 rides. Without your help the ride would not have been possible, we hope to see you all next year. Over 500 participants enjoyed the 50km and 100km 2011 ride through the beautiful Central Coast hinterland.

Our thanks to all those who volunteered their time on the day. The success of such events is not possible without the many volunteers.

Our thanks also to our sponsors who are generous donors to the cause. We appreciate their support of Rotary and Coast Shelter, the major beneficiary.

We have a new photo gallery on our web site, so please take a look.

Wondabyne Sculptures

With the support of Mt Penang Parklands and the Rotary Clubs of the Central Coast, Erina Rotarians are involved in providing identification plaques for the Wondabyne Sculptures, now permanently in residence at Mt Penang. Over time all the sculptures will have details of the sculptor and the name of the work displayed.

Rotaract on the Central Coast

Rotaract is an organisation designed to meet the needs of 18-25 year olds, who have a passion for their community and who enjoy networking with like-minded people. Rotaract is back in full swing on the Central Coast, so for more information follow this Rotaract link.

The origin of the word 'Erina' is thought to come from the Aboriginal word 'Yerin' meaning "a place where fresh water meets salt water"
