Dilly Bag launch, Chertsey Primary School

The Dilly Bag program is a literacy project designed for indigenous students in Australia, and local Chertsey School has 10% of students identifying as indigenous. "Tales from A Dilly Bag" is designed to improve literacy levels amongst indigenous students at primary level by engaging them in reading and associated craft activities. Erina RC's successful launch at Chertsey on October 2010 was presided over by School Principal John Anderson and Erina RC then-President Monika Hansen; some photos of the day are reproduced below.

Changeover Dinner

The Changeover Dinner in July to farewell President Monika Hansen after her successful 2010-2011 year as ERC President and welcome Caroline O'Shannassy as Club President for the 2011 to 2012 year was a great success, well-attended at the ERC's home base, the Erina Rugby Leagues Club's Frank Edwards Room on June 21st. Our own resident 'David Bailey', the renowned photographer Adrian Gale, provided the pictorial evidence of the evening .......

The origin of the word 'Erina' is thought to come from the Aboriginal word 'Yerin' meaning "a place where fresh water meets salt water"
