Our Club
Erina Rotary Club supports both local and international projects.
Locally in the 2010-2011 Rotary year, under President Monika Hansen, the club supported Coast Shelter, an organisation that provides emergency accommodation and other services to homeless people on the Central Coast, and we also continued our support of the Gosford Guides and Terrigal Sea Rescue who provide us with support for the Century Challenge
During the year the Rotary Club of Erina supported the Tales from a Dilly Bag program and launched the program at the Chertsey Public School. Tales from a Dilly Bag is an educational package designed for indiegnous students in primary schools.
Internationally we will continue our support of Midwives East Timor Inc and the School of St Jude's in Tanzania.
Vocationally we continued our Pride of Workmanship awards, with two very worthy receipients.
The club had a busy year under Youth Director Caroline O'Shannassy and we had participants in the Rotary Youth Leadership awards and the Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment. We also were very pleased to have a candidate from Erina High School successfully meet the criteria for the National Youth Science Forum in Canberra. The club raised funds with the inaugual Trivia night, held with ther help of Erina High School.
At the Changeover Dinner the outgoing President Monika Hansen handed over the office of President to Caroline O'Shannassy for the year 2011-2012. Caroline's leadership team of dedicated Rotarians for the coming year is named in full on the 'Our Members' page. It's definitely shaping up to be another great year for the Rotary Club of Erina.
